Just wrapped up a big one – finally got the confirmation that the full batch of 20 SHACMAN F2000 6x4 dump trucks is safely on its way to the client. It’s always a relief when a deal this size clicks all the way through to delivery, especially when you’ve spent weeks tweaking the specs with the customer.

This particular client is focused on sand transportation. If you know the business, you know sand isn't just "dirt." It’s heavy, it’s abrasive, and it will eat a standard box alive if you aren't careful. Early on, the customer gave us a pretty detailed rundown of his working conditions. He initially spec’d the standard 8mm floor and 4mm walls. Honestly, I wasn't comfortable with the 4mm sides for sand duty. I’ve seen too many boxes start cracking after a few months of that constant abrasion.

So, we had a chat. I convinced him to go for the upgraded 8mm / 6mm combo. It’s a bit thicker, a bit heavier, but for a sand pit? It’s the only way to go if you want the truck to last. He agreed, and seeing those beefier boxes getting loaded onto the ship felt like a win. It’s about protecting their investment, really.

Now, about the shipping. Logistics out of China can be a headache right now. The client originally wanted to save a few bucks and squeeze them into an on-deck vessel. But looking at the forecast and the risk of saltwater corrosion in the hold, we both decided to play it safe. He switched to under-deck Transport. Yeah, it requires some serious lashing and securing, but at least the trucks aren't sitting in a pool of salt water for weeks.
